Welcome to the Little Place Labs Q2 2025 newsletter

As we close out the first half of 2025, we are excited to share the progress that continues to propel us towards our vision. Q2 was marked by key product releases, strategic partnerships, and significant government funding milestones, laying a strong foundation for our mission ahead.

Thank you for being part of our journey 🚀

TACFI Award to Advance Orbitfy

SPACEWERX has selected Little Place Labs for a Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) award, unlocking up to $2M in funding. This support will enable us to further enhance Orbitfy and expand the reach and deployability of real-time space-based insights.

Product Release: OrbitfyPREP & Maritime Insights

OrbitfyPREP

We released OrbitfyPREP, a modular suite of in-orbit software designed for Earth observation satellites. OrbitfyPREP enables satellites to preprocess, compress, and encrypt data directly in orbit. This allows operators to reduce costs, optimize data downlink bandwidth, and improve latency. Read more about it in our article here.

SXSW Pitch Winner

Near-Real Time Maritime Insights

We partnered with Sidus Space to bring our Maritime Domain Awareness product to market. This collaboration combines our advanced data processing capabilities with Sidus Space’s satellite infrastructure to deliver near-real-time maritime insights. The solution supports port monitoring, coastal security, and the detection of illegal fishing activity. We are offering early access to select partners and adopters. To learn more, book a call with us.

Orbitfy Running Strong in Orbit

Orbitfy, our edge computing software, has been operating in space aboard Loft Orbital’s YAM-6 throughout the first half of 2025, delivering multiple successful in-orbit demonstrations. We have validated key components of our end-to-end pipeline, including image capture, insight generation, encryption, and delivery.

We will continue advancing this capability as part of our mission to bring actionable space insights to the world in under seven minutes.

Capital Factory

Event Highlights

Bosco at a panel on “Technology for Social Good” at the Getty House, LA, hosted by Mayor Karen Bass, and Stephanie Graves from the Lee Andrews Group. The discussion explored how AI and emerging tech are driving real-world impact, from urban planning to disaster response, and shared how space innovators like Little Place Labs can help advance social good.

We were part of the panel at the TechConnect "Commercial All Stars", joining fellow founders from Lunasonde and Xona Space to discuss how emerging space companies are navigating funding, partnerships, and growth in a rapidly evolving industry. Watch the Webinar Recording here.

We got to share our story and mission at Capital Factory's Monthly First Look event in Austin, Texas.

Bosco & Dave at the 40th Space Symposium, Colorado. From pitching on the main stage at the Innovate Competition to back-to-back conversations with old and new friends, this year’s event was, as usual, great.
