2024 Year in Review
Advancing Orbitfy
In 2024, we achieved remarkable progress in the development and enhancement of our flagship product suite, Orbitfy. This effort culminated in the launch of a series of in-orbit runs aboard Loft Orbital's YAM-6 satellite mission—a significant milestone in our journey to revolutionize in-orbit data processing for faster, actionable insights. Expanding Partnerships
Our collaboration with the U.S. Air Force & Space Force deepened as we secured multiple awards including a Phase II contract to deliver near-real-time insights for maritime domain awareness. Read more here.
Wildfire Management with XPrize
Our Fire Foresight team, advanced to the next round of the XPRIZE Wildfire, a 4-year, $11 million competition incentivizing the innovation of firefighting technologies that will end destructive wildfires. We look forward to the upcoming assessment - to autonomously detect and suppress high-risk fires within a 1,000 km² area in under 10 minutes while avoiding decoy fires.
Thought leadership & Outreach
We have been all over the world sharing our vision. From Satellite 2024 to Space Com, SXSW, Collision, SmallSat, Fed Supernova, TechCrunch, Future Forces, and more, our team actively connected with industry leaders, investors, and collaborators.
Features with Loft Orbital
This year, we were honored to be featured in several notable publications and events like the Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur UK, SpaceNews, Space Force Association Magazine, and a leadership panel at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
Team Growth
Our team continued to grow with key additions that strengthened our capabilities and mission. David Braithwaite, a 24-year veteran intelligence officer, joined as our Federal Account Executive, bringing his deep expertise and mission-driven focus. Read his story here. Matthew Whitley, a geospatial and satellite data analytics expert, also joined as our Senior Data Scientist, further enhancing our ability to deliver cutting-edge insights.
Looking Ahead in 2025
As we step into the new year, our focus is on scaling Orbitfy to meet evolving satellite data needs, bringing new product features to market, strengthening partnerships in national security to enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency, and exploring new applications in sectors such as renewable energy, insurance, and commodities. Through continued innovation and growth, we aim to deliver faster, smarter insights and drive meaningful impact across industries.
