Role - Business Analyst Internship
ABOUT LITTLE PLACE LABS
Little Place Labs is a space technology (SpaceTech) startup with a vision of making satellites and space robots intelligent, autonomous and decentralised as we enter into the new era of commercially exploiting space derived insights and resources.
Our initial mission is to develop space-based data processing capabilities for various Earth Observation (EO) applications. We aim to make satellites smarter by enabling satellite edge computing and machine learning in orbit to generate near real-time insights for objects and events of interest on the ground such as wildfires, floods, surveillance and other finance applications.

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a remote only position.
As the Business Analyst Intern, you will work on Market and Stakeholder discovery, which will be an integral part of the development of LPL business road map.
During and by the end of the placement the Business Intern would gain in-depth knowledge of the nascent ecosystem of satellite edge computing and the latest trends and opportunities in the earth observation market segment. There will also be opportunities for them to interact with real world customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In-Depth Market Discovery - refine stakeholder mapping of the Satellite Edge Computing ecosystem, identify who are the necessary partners that LPL required for the solution – e.g., satellite hardware providers, satellite operators, common software platform providers.
Customer Discovery – market research in three key sectors - 1) Climate - Natural Disaster Surveillance, 2) Defence & National Security, 3) Finance & Insurance, and identify potential beneficiaries and users of our solution.
Gather and analyse data for potential business expansion
Assist with project management for selected projects
80% of time focused on LPL defined tasks + 20% time working on self exploratory projects
SUCCESS METRICS

Besides, you should be self-driven, strong team players, curious and have the desire to understand the underpinnings of complex business problems and processes. Academic Background: Business or Engineering Bachelor (senior years preferred) or Masters
Identify specific business opportunities
Successfully supporting business development activities

Experience in Space domain projects or software products a plus

TERM & COMPENSATION
Term - Immediate towards the end of summer and extendable.
Compensation - Depends on experience, on an hourly basis.
